The seeds of the M65 were planted more than three years ago through Mini Store founder Jeffrey Dingle's involvement with American sailor Adam Seaman‘s 2003 Mini Transat campaign. Several trips to France and a trip to Brazil provided a first hand introduction to the very unique, exciting world of the European mini scene and lots of new friendships with the skippers, designers, builders and organizers who collectively comprise the Mini Class. The experience also spawned an idea - how about bringing the Mini to America?

Push ahead the calendar to September 2008
and a fresh new production Mini design, created by UK naval architects Owen Clarke Design and built in America, will splash the waters in Marblehead, MA. The M65 presents a new and exciting sailboat for the US and Canadian market - while designed to meet all the technical and safety requirements of Classe Mini.

If you're interested in an affordable, high performance, trailerable sailboat that you can dry sail, day sail, take off on for the weekend, a week, a month, or sail across hundreds or thousands of miles of ocean - and, if you're so inclined, race in the Mini Transat (4.300 nautical miles, solo, from France to Brazil), then have a look at the M65.

The new M65 is priced at $41,000 for a full boat (sails not included) and $49,000 as a sail away (includes main, jib and assymetrical spinnaker, and trailer). A kit version (hull and deck bonded, rudders and mounting hardware supplied but not attached) is available for $28,000.
